You won’t believe what’s in your air ducts!
A brilliant summary by the National Air Duct Cleaners Association. Also, stated by the NADCA as to why you should have your air ducts cleaned:
“In addition to normal accumulations of dust and dirt found in all homes with air ducts, there are several other factors that can increase the need for regular HVAC system cleaning:
• pets
• occupants with allergies or asthma
• cigarette or cigar smoke
• water contamination or damage to the home or HVAC system
• home renovation or remodeling projects
Some occupants are more sensitive to these contaminants than others. Allergy and asthma sufferers, as well as young children and the elderly tend to be more susceptible to the types of poor indoor air quality that air duct cleaning can help address.”
Cleaner air is easier, healthier to breathe. Having healthy air means having a better way of life.
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, of the average $2,000 an American home owner spends on electricity, approximately $200 to $400 of that is being spent on “wasted energy.” Contaminants in your heating and cooling system will cause it to worker harder, costing you more money. This will also cause the systems life to be shorter–costing you money.
Aside from the possible medical expenses, if not greater from having mold in your own home — if you are the owner of a rental property and mold is found, you may be subjected to a lawsuit by the occupants, including any issues they may have with their own health.
